A warm welcome, truly tasty food, local ales, fine wines and comfortable surroundings await you at The Checkers in Montgomery.

The former coaching inn is enjoying a new lease of life following its renovation in 2010. Today it's a harmonious combination of old and new, with a relaxing bar and lounge area, beautiful dining room and five bedrooms.

Chef proprietor Stéphane Borie's kitchen offers the very best in classic French cooking, and in October 2011 The Checkers became the fourth restaurant in Wales with a Michelin star. The cooking is complemented by a comprehensive wine list, local real ales and a relaxed and friendly service.
